The present book states that sibling rivalry stems from jealousy similar to that a spouse might feel if asked to welcome another husband or wife into the household. It outlines ways to defuse such explosive situations as comparing, assigning roles, or taking sides and suggests specific remedies to avoid conflict. Helped us with siblings ages 7-9

Very good advice for kids ages 7 to 12... Really helped us get our kids ages 7 & 9 to quarrel less! Easy to understand, remember, and implement suggestions (unlike some parenting books). Recommend if you have grammar school age kids.

and I glad I did

Started reading this a few weeks before our 2nd child was born, and I glad I did! Our 4 yr old son really started to act up. We didn't yell for judge him (or at least we try our best), but follow on some tips from the book usch as naming out his feelings. Not all things work right away. Need to be patient and really look deep into what's bothering your child, name out his/her feelings, and what he/she can do about it.

This book is excellent. Their book about "How to talk so kids ...

This book is excellent. Their book about "How to talk so kids will listen" felt like it contained things I already knew. And in this book, I already understood the basics about respecting each sibling individually. But it's the specific examples and recommendations in this book which made me realize how much I had to learn in this area, and already, I'm doing much better as a result of having read it. I really enjoyed reading this, and it's one of the few books which I think I may re-read later on as a resource.
