A Must-Have for Crafty Business Starting

I really love this book. It delivers exactly what it promises. Lots of helpful advice, specific instructions, and easy to read. I've read other books on starting your own crafty business and they were not as helpful. They had too much fluff and too wishy-washy with "following your dreams." I wanted real action steps and how to do them. This book is just that!

Probably the best craft business advice book ever!

This is a must-have book for anyone thinking about starting a craft business, or indeed anyone already running one! Fiona is a minefield of information on crafts, sewing and business. I've been running a home-based sewing business for a few years now and this book did not disappoint. I'm learning things I'd never thought about and it's jam-packed full of useful advice. I especially found the social media advice extremely helpful as this is such a big part of business promotion these days. The thing I like about this book is that it's set out in a really easy to understand way and, in each section, you get activity suggestions to carry out which will help you along the way with starting (or improving) any craft business. I've bought business books in the past and quite frankly have found them quite tedious to read through. Fiona's book, on the other hand, is a refreshing and enjoyable to read. You won't regret buying this!

Having known Fiona over the past four years, this book is a brilliant reflection of her vast knowledge and expertise in running your own business in the creative industries. Her knowledge - particularly in social media, search engine optimisation, business analytics and tools to track your business progress - is second to none. It is true that many people in the creative industries have no business sense and many small businesses fail. In my view, this book should be a must read before you embark on a new creative business venture and will certainly help you avoid many common pitfalls. The format and design of the book is very easy to read and you will keep dipping into it, jot notes on it and use it as a workbook - my copy is now very well-thumbed! Thoroughly recommended.
