Lost 4.8 kilos in 13 days, was 96 now 91.2) Excellent approach to weight loss and more importantly sustained weight loss. The first thing you need to do is get your head cleared of all the guilt inducing advertising about fat that has dominated the weight loss industry for 40 years or more and the whispering from family and friends. This diet will kick start your diet and body shape change. Bear in mind that this diet is as much about eating dark green leafy vegetables as fat and most importantly avoiding processed crap. Hunger pangs are kept to a minimum and with a little organization (properly stocked fridge and food presses) it's much easier to sustain. I will start to re-introduce some good quality carbs e.g. oat bran, brown rice and root vegetables but no more processed junk (especially "low fat" nonsense).

I am not a gourmet

It will seem like I am picking on this author, but I am not. I am sure she is a talented and knowledgeable author, and her advice is sound. I am a believer in HFLC already. I am just tired of buying HFLC recipe books that have food items/ingredients, on every page--maybe every paragraph--of which I have no knowledge of those items. I am a busy professional and I really do not want to learn how to become a gourmet in the kitchen. For example, on the first recipe page; crudites, creme fraiche, spring onions (as opposed to fall?), Emmental or Gruyere Cheese. I am dead in the water at the beginning without some time-consuming research (I am not a good cook either). I have never seen these items in Publix, and I have no idea where I would go to find them. Metric vs. Imperial is fine for me because I can convert in my head, but most Americans will have trouble with that. Further, I see where this is going. I am single. Lets say I give up my hourly worth to hunt down and buy these items. After I use them one time, the rest at some point will have to go into the garbage because I am out buying more ingredients that will be used once before the balance becomes garbage. Somebody MUST write a HFLC recipe book that even the minions can follow without wasting scores of dollars on ingredients that will never get used in time to be useful. Storage suggestions would probably help along with a glossary. Keep in mind that many of us are not feeding a family.
