Not About the Martial Art

Contrary to a previous reviewer (who appears not to have read the book), this book is not about the Chinese martial art of Pa Kua or any other style of the Chinese martial arts, and there is nothing about self-defense in the book. (I've trained in the martial art of Pa Kua, and would know.) Instead, the book is about the system (mostly for Taoist divination) of eight diagrams called the pa kua (ba gua in Pinyan romanization, literally, "eight trigrams") on which the martial art of Pa Kua are based on, which explains the confusion exhibited by the previous reviewer.
The book details how the eight trigrams figured in Chinese history, philosophy and religion, including much information about the monotheistic worship of Shang Ti, which was the original religion of China. As such, it is a good read for anyone interested in the subject. I have one caveat: the author is a good writer, but more of a mystic than a scientist or historian. Having said that, anyone interested in Chinese culture, religion and history will enjoy the book.

I Love Chinese Pakua and I want to become a master at it.

I loved Chinese Pakua Kungfu but it I would like to see more. If you need a work out this is for you. I have never seen eneything as good as this in my life. Its good for the mind,body and the spirt. Its also has cool training moves. And it shows self-defense moves to protect your self. I want to be Chinese Pakua Kungfu Master. Thank You
